Yesterday, the 26th edition of foal auction Dronten took place at the KWPN-centre in Ermelo. 52 jumping and dressage foals have changed the owner for an average price of about 6.700€. The organisation can therefore look back at a successful edition.

As always, the auction started with the presentation of the promising dressage and jumping foals, this year presented by the new presenter Peter van der Waaij. This starts with a ceremony congratulating the breeders of stallions which have been approved by European studbooks this year and which have been auctioned off during veiling Dronten when they were foals.

The top price of 20.000€ was paid for number 57, the wildcard Mac Arthur Sollenburg (For Romance x Chinook) from breeder A. Zekveld from Almere who had just been selected this week. This dressage foal has been bought by Stal Chavaleh from Rijnsburg who also invested in four other foals such as Merolus (High Five U.S. x Gribaldi) from breeder G. Jansen who changes owner for 11.000€ and Maurits E (Dettori x Houston) who moves from breeder G.C. van Eck in Linde to Stal Chavaleh for 9.500€. Next to price top Mac Arthur Sollenburg, the dressage foal Milithyia Texel (Daily Diamond x Astrix) has also been auctioned off for a top price of 13.000€. This foal from Cocksdorp from breeder W.T. van de Linde is to move to Wouda´s Sport Horses bv in Schiedam.

The most expensive jumping foal was catalogue number 28 Marpita who changed owner for 11.000€. This descendant from Cornet Obolensky x Stakkato is to move from breeder H.J.H. Bonenkamp from Dalfsen to M.H.A. Zeekaf in Well. Jumping foal Mashanea O.A. (Harley VDL x Chin Chin) from breeder O. Anema from Wijckel is going to Germany for 7.000€

In addition to the many spectators in the full arena there was much international interest. Many have followed the event on uHorse.tv and have bid via telephone. The organisation of veulenveiling Dronten can look back at a successful evening. With sales of 349.000€ one can say that it was a felicitous auction.
