Friday 7 September, the 27th edition of foal auction Dronten took place at the KWPN-centre in Ermelo. 63 jumping and dressage foals have changed of owner for an average price of about 5.600€. The organisation can therefore look back at a successful edition.

The auction started with a surprise for auctioneer Johan Wilmink, he was asked to join the show “the Springmeijer”. Sitting on a carriage with a glass of beer. Then the horse goes as fast as he can and the carriage ‘jumps’ over two blocks. At the end it is about the question: who has left the most beer in the glass? In this show the winner was handler Eric Braat. (on the photo below)

The top price of 11.500€ was paid for the number 28, Nina Reina, the Secret x Chippendale daughter. This dressage foal from breeder H. ten Hof has been bought by Egbert Schep. The dressage foal Nohla Turfhorst (Franklin x Jazz) has also been auctioned off for a top price of 11.000€.
The most expensive jumping foal was catalogue number 31 Nainggolan TG, who changed owner for 10.000€. This descendant from Balou du Rouet x Cassini I is to move from breeder T.H.G. Guns Hagenhorst Horses. Jumping foals Carzella AWH Z (Carrera VDL x Indoctro) and Nobolensky (Cornet Obolensky x Concorde), were both sold for the prize of 9.500€.

In addition to the many spectators in the full arena there was much international interest. Many have followed the event on Clipmyhorse.tv and have bid by telephone. The organisation of veulenveiling Dronten can look back at a successful evening. With sales of 325.000€ one can say that it was a satisfying auction.
