Good atmosphere and prices at the Sport Horse and Foal Auction

After a successful show jumping competition on Sunday, the Dronten Equestrian Week continued on Tuesday with the Sport Horse Auction. It concluded on Friday with the Foal Auction. On Tuesday evening, Chinchinaty (by Chin Chin Erbe) changed hands as the auction topper for €66,000. Ohio Newpeat JB (by Pommerol de Muze) followed for a price of €50,000. On Friday evening, the hammer fell for Ultimate Seven from Heaven (by One to Remember) at €12,500, making it the most expensive foal. Chicago VDH (by Chacoon Blue) also came close with €11,500.

Domestic and international
The atmosphere and ambiance were good in Dronten. Interest was high once again, resulting in a full house at the Flevodrome Equestrian Center. And, in addition to enthusiastic bidding from the floor, there was also a great deal of interest online from both home and abroad. Consequently, many sport horses, as well as a number of foals, found their way to America.

Great week
“We have had a great week with a very good Sport Horse Auction. Perhaps more was expected from the Foal Auction, as there was a nice selection. It seemed a bit like they didn't dare to buy, but fortunately it improved after the break. I do think these are realistic prices,” said auction chair Anne-Kees Smeenk.

Charity
Both auctions once again started with a beautiful item for charity. A beautiful painting by 'Schilderij van Hes' on Tuesday evening raised a handsome €1,600 for KIKA – Kinderen Kanker Vrij. On Friday evening, a beautiful horse head by 'Junk Art Zeewolde' fetched the fantastic sum of €2,050 for Hospice Dronten.

Vino Tinto and Ermitage Kalone produce top foals at Dronten Foal Auction 2025

With a big smile, the organizers of the Dronten foal auction look back on Friday evening. In the well-filled, atmospheric setting at the Flevodrome Equestrian Center, dressage foal Vainqueur Héroique (by Vino Tinto) was first sold for 19,000 euros during a thrilling finale, after which auctioneer Johan Wilmink continued undeterred and brought down the hammer for the interestingly bred Vanlenchide DN (by Ermitage Kalone) for 17,000 euros.

On the eve of the Dronten Foal Auction, on Friday, September 12 at Hippisch Centrum Flevodrome, the organizers are very enthusiastic about the collection to be offered. “Especially among the show jumping foals, there is a great deal of sport in the dam lines, even more than in other years,” says Coen van Zanten, who formed the selection committee together with Jan Wybe Schurer and Thom Siemerink. “There are some very interesting and beautiful foals among them.”

“It was a wonderful evening with a full house and a good atmosphere, where the horses generally sold well,” says Henk Frederiks about the successful show jumping horse auction on Tuesday evening at Hippisch Centrum Flevodrome. Bidding continued briskly on the collection, which featured a number of phenomenally jumping horses from proven bloodlines. Nine horses found their way abroad. Among them was top horse Pandorado (by Grandorado TN), who fetched 40,000 euros.
